Obama-mania

January 22, 2009 at 12:43 , by admin

Earlier this week, I went to Washington, D.C., to cover the U.S. presidential inauguration and Barack Obama’s upcoming Canadian visit for CBC News. It didn’t occur to me when I left Toronto how difficult it would be to cover the event.

The sub-zero temperatures left my hands and feet numb most of the time, and that made writing notes and taking pictures challenging.

But none of that mattered because I wanted to be there to witness the historic moment in person and to take in the collective optimism that was in the air.
